We have loved to see our intramural clubs excel over the academic year and will be eager to see how the remaining matches play out. Our league winners have already received recognition in the recent IMS Newsletter but an extended summary of all our sports can be found here.

Football 11s
Wednesday
The first season has ended with Innis and Gunnfingers Utd coming out on top and 4 points clear of Broughton Bulls in 2nd place. Matches were often some of our highest scoring. 2nd November saw 27 goals across 3 matches. Congratulations to the league winners who completed the season unbeaten. The challenge is set now for opponents to end that streak in season 2.
Saturday
Coming towards the final matches of the season, Geography and Informatics will be hoping to put pressure on league leaders Inter Edinburgh. Having gone unbeaten all season, Inter sit 7 points clear at the top with a healthy goal difference of +44. However, with 1 of 2 matches against Geography still to play, this top of the table double-header will surely provide fireworks at Peffermill and likely decide who will be league winners.
Sunday
Division One
In a division which seems to be improving its standard and competitiveness every year, it is again PE Fitbaw who come out as champions for Seasons 1 and 2. GOZF have successively secured 2nd place in both seasons and Spansoc have proved to be a good addition since their promotion. PE will be hoping to continue their unbeaten record in the coming 3rd season.
Division Two
After the promotions and relegations over Christmas, this division has become one of the most exciting across the IM football programme. Southside AFC finished on top with 15 points ahead of 3 challengers on 9 points. The evenness of Brown Street, Feynmen, and Ewnited in record (3 wins and 2 losses), was matched by their closeness of matches. Highlighted by the 3-2 Feynmen win vs Brown St in January, a scoreline reciprocated by Brown St vs Ewnited in February.
Division Three
Across the 2 seasons, no club have proved to be the dominant team in this division. After narrowly missing out on promotion in season 1, Diversity FC have not been able to kick on and instead it was Hangover 96 who followed Southside AFC to Division 2.

Football 5s
Tuesday
Division 1
It has been an impressive display from Slumdog Mignolet and Lingardium Leviosa who exchanged titles this year. We are excited to see who will come out on top in the 3rd season or if one of the other 4 teams prove to be a challenger. A special recognition for the 65 goals score by Slumdog Mignolet over just 5 matches.
Division 2
Back to back promotions from Delph and Safety have rocketed them to Div 1 completing an unbeaten season 2. Shoutout to Stockbridge Sharks and Shaolin for their exciting 10-9 match in February.
Division 3
Italian Society were able to back up their 2nd place finish with a title win. However, they shared their promotion with Loose FC who finished with equal points. A new team inclusion for Season 3 gave us the grounds to promote both sides.
Wednesday
Division 1
Despite The Castle winning back to back titles. It would be wrong not to highlight the incredible finish to Season 1. The winners, 2nd place BioSoc, and 3rd place Unathletico Madrid all ended up on 15 points sharing their 1 loss each between them. A single goal was what separated 2nd and 3rd in the end.
Division 2
Beaver Fever built upon their 2nd place finish to win the title and promotion. In their successful 2nd season they played 5, won 5, scored 15 points and scored 55 goals.
Friday
Division 1
Cab Call will be going for a 3rd division win before the end of term as they are chased by Dijks in Dias and Craigs SC. A continuation of their unbeaten streak will be on their priority list as well.
Division 2
5 and a side of chips have taken all the headlines as runaway champions in Season 2 with a very impressive 4 wins and 88 goals scored. Perfectly exemplified by their 32-6 and 27-6 wins in 2023. A dense middle bunch has formed with Jimmy’s Jorts, Murder on Zidane’s Floor and Unathletico Madrid trading wins and losses.
Division 3
The teams in this division have exchanged wins with each other which has meant for fair competition. Newcomers Gary have taken the title this 2nd season and will trade places with History who are coming down from Division 2.
Netball
Division 1
History Girls Match Squad successfully achieved an unbeaten season despite the challenge from the likes of Medics’ Netball Red and History Girls Club Squad. ChemSoc will be looking to make an impact after their promotion.
Division 2
EUNC White can count themselves unlucky to have not been promoted due to having more wins but less matches played than the winners ChemSoc.

Hockey
Division 1
In what were two well fought seasons, it was Riga who took the championship in the 2nd season. They were challenged by Medics Hockey 1s, RDVC, and EUCC. We are interested to see who emerges as the leader in this 3rd season before the end of term.
Division 2
Heriot Watt were the unfortunate team to be relegated from Division 1 going into the final season but they will be looking to bounce back before the end of term. EUHC Rec put in an excellent showing making the opposite transition upwards. Play will continue at Peffermill under the Friday night lights.
Squash
Double Concentrate achieved the most points coming towards the final weeks of play this semester. They were able to rack up 29 games won across their 3 total games. This was an impressive turnaround on their 1st season results in which they finished bottom despite their 2 wins.

Basketball
EUCBC and Los NBA were able to put on many good displays over 2 seasons. They racked up 13 wins between them out of a possible 16 matches. Special recognition should also be given to EUMBC Ones who impressively managed to score 176 points across 3 matches.
Rugby
In a disjointed season, Engineers RFC have cemented themselves as an important part of the intramural sport system. Excelling on the field and off it, several members have now taken on responsibility through governing roles at the Sport Union. We look forward to a rejuvenated IMS rugby programme next year.
