About the team:
We are thrilled to introduce the University of Edinburgh's newest club: The Edinburgh Kelpies, a Women’s American Flag Football Team.
Flag Football is a variation of American football that is played without physical contact or tackling. It is rapidly gaining international popularity, with the first Olympic Flag Football matches being played at LA 2028!
Whether you are an absolute beginner or an experienced and seasoned player we want YOU! All skill levels are welcome into our inclusive team which caters to people of all abilities. We will be hosting fun and active training sessions as well as competing in matches with other universities and the BAFA League (British American Football Association).
Join our training sessions on Wednesday evening at 18:00-19:30 and Saturday morning at 11:00-12:30 to get involved and meet our skilled and experienced coaches.
The fun goes beyond the game;) Please join our weekly social events on Wednesdays to relax and make friends! Our socials so far have included themed pub socials such as ‘dress as your type’ and ‘red flags’, as well as sober socials like team brunch and BBQ’s in the Meadows.
Membership prices:
We have an ethos of inclusivity, so we are keeping membership fees to a minimum of just £35 for the whole year or £25 for a single semester. You do not require a Pleasance gym membership to join our team.
