The Sailing Club welcomes all abilities from beginners to experienced sailors, come along and join in!

The Edinburgh University Sailing Club welcomes all abilities from beginners to experienced sailors. Founded in 1933 as the Edinburgh University Yacht Club, we are a well established club with lots to offer.

For the experienced sailors among us we have multiple teams to chose from. We have Team Racing teams and yachting teams you can try out for. Both of these teams compete at a high level, sending teams to BUSA-BUCS last year for both Yachting and Team Racing. We travel around Scotland and ocassionally down South for events. We also had sailors compete at BUCS Fleet Racing Championships last year.

We also have weekly club sailing. Beginners who had never stepped into a boat a couple of months ago are now competent sailors, while the more experienced have enjoyed the chance to get on the water. Our RYA qualified members run beginner sessions every Sunday at Port Edagr yacht club and there's always a chance to get out on a yacht at Port Edgar on Wednesday evenings or Sunday afternoons.

Our dinghy teams train at Loch Ore on Wednesdays and Saturdays and our yatching teams train in the club races at Port Edgar on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Our Annual West Coast Cruise is the trip of a lifetime featuring stunning sailing, views and cruising on Scotlands magnificient West Coast. We also go abroad for a week in the sun cruising round some islands on Summer Sail Week - no sailing experience required!

Our club (along with the sport of sailing in general) is renowned for its socialising. Joining in with club activities is a great way to meet new, like-minded people and make new friends. We have a social every Wednesday evening, whether its a chill pub catch up or an organised event.
