Hello, brave new students!
EUSDC is Scotland's No. 1 organization for learning to skydive solo. We cater to a range of skill levels from total novices to skydiving experts, so don't be shy, give it a go! The club also owns a plethora of equipment in an effort to lower the cost of participation, whether that be helmets, altimeters, or total parachute set ups, we have it all.
Unsure if skydiving's for you? Feel free to attend our weekly socials to get to know the club, the sport, and the community.
How we help you learn: AFF (Accelerated Free Fall) Courses:
By booking through us, we will organize all transport and administration for your initial "ground school" which includes all the training you'll need as well as your very first jump from 15,000ft. To be crystal clear, this is a SOLO course, not a one-off tandem jump - you have your own parachute and will have the opportunity to deploy and land all by yourself (don't worry the instructors will jump with you, pulling it on your behalf if needed!). The course is open to all who meet the age and weight requirements to skydive, found on our dropzone's FAQ page.
The ground school is a full day activity and you will, weather permitting***, jump the following day. Hence, we leave Edinburgh on Wednesday evening and camp overnight. Most students will camp over the weekend to squeeze in as many jumps as possible! The full course includes 8 AFF levels (instructor-led) and a further 10 solo jumps to consolidate your learning, but you won't be pushed to progress any faster than you are comfortable with - we find our members quickly become addicted to the adrenaline! Following this, you will have achieved your 'A' licence and can jump solo anywhere in the world!
Check out our home dropzone's (Skyhigh Skydiving) website for more information about where you'll be jumping here or our handy handbook for everything you need to know about the club and your progression here.
Costs:
Our initial sign-up fee for the ground school and your first jump is £359, which includes transport to and from Skyhigh Skydiving (Since we cover transportation this deal is around £60 cheaper than if you purchased the package as a non-student).
You will also be required to hold a club membership. This is £29 per year and gives you access to club kit, discounted jumps, event transport, and club socials - this means that, once licenced, your jumps will be £22 each!
***We cannot guarantee that you will be able to complete your first jump on this first training weekend. Skydiving is a weather-dependent sport and if the weather conditions are beyond the student limits set by the dropzone staff and instructors, jumping cannot take place. Arrangements to return to the dropzone to complete your first jump must be made by you. We do not offer refunds for those unable to make it back to the dropzone to complete their first jump.
