The Sports Union is committed to contributing to social responsibility and sustainability at the University of Edinburgh. This includes supporting the University’s Climate Strategy through our research, teaching and working practices. Within the Sports Union, we are taking the following steps:

 

• Participating in the University’s Sustainability Awards programme. We are currently working towards a Gold Office Award after having achieved Silver in 2019/20.
• Running campaigns and projects focussed on SRS, such as 'Go Green with EUSU' in 2017/18 and 'Green Burgh Varsity' in 2018/19.
• Discussing sustainability issues at Executive Committee meetings to ensure sustainability is embedded in strategic planning and decision making.
• Embeding sustainability in all that we do, by having a staff and student lead identified to lead projects, and take others with them with regards to understanding the importance of the topic.
